The concept of the “Bugia & Lanterna” derives from the retroarchetype of the “bugia” candle holder - used in the past on a desk or table to have a natural and soft light. The mix between a classic candle holder and a traditional lantern created thissurprising product. Protected by a glass, you can use “Bugia & Lanterna” even outside in the darkness for a romantic and luxurious dinner.
The classical chandelier image was reinterpreted in a contemporary and humorous way by using 435 porcelain teaspoons, forks, knives used on the kitchen table. Visual and auditory function was sought using the dim lights that reflect onto white ceramics, and the rhythmical sounds of music that the teaspoons, forks and knives make like a windbell when they hit each other with blowing of the wind.
