Mentre oggi Lady GAGA e CHRISTINA AGUILERA pescano (senza citarlo) dall'immaginario visionario dell'artista svizzero HR GIGER che da sempre mescola surrealismo, orrore e sensualita' con corpi modificati e riferimenti infernali, una popstar all'apice del successo nel 1981 metteva già in scena questa visione originale. DEBBIE HARRY dei BLONDIE ha scelto HR GIGER per la copertina del suo primo album solista "KOO KOO" (prodotto dalla leggendaria scuderia musicale "THE CHIC ORGANIZATION"), un artwork potentissimo, che ai tempi dette addirittura scandalo tanto che l'album fu quasi un insuccesso se lo paragoniamo alle uscite dello stesso periodo di Blondie. While today Lady GAGA and CHRISTINA AGUILERA take inspiration (without mentioning) from the visionary imagery of HR GIGER, an artist that since a long time mixes surrealism, horror and sensuality with body modifications and infernal citations, a popstar at the edge of success in 1981 was proposing this original vision. DEBBIE HARRY of BLONDIE group fame chose HR GIGER for the cover of her first solo album "KOO KOO" (produced by the legendary "THE CHIC ORGANIZATION") with a powerful artwork, that back in the day created scandal (one of the reason why the album was far less successful than the other Blondie material of the same period).
