Il genio trasgressivo di Serge Gainsbourg, sovvertitore di ogni tabù, nel 1987 ha trasformato una languida canzone portata al successo nel 1937 dalla leggendaria Edith Piaf in una specie di inno dance al "sesso anonimo per una sola notte" con marcati accenti omoerotici. La storia della donna che vive una indimenticabile notte d'amore col bel legionario biondo che non rivela neanche il suo nome e che viene ricordato per tutta la vita, interpretata dalla voce roca di un maschio eterosessuale (la famosa voce roca incrostata da milioni di sigarette Gitanes) crea un'azione di disturbo e di traslazione tra l'iquietante e lo spassoso. Luc Besson ne ha diretto un bel video in bianco e nero, grande successo in Francia. Esiste anche un'altra versione precedente del video, voluta dallo stesso Gainsbourg e diretta da Henry Legoy con un budget ristretto, che lascia meno spazio all'interpretazione, ma è la versione di Besson la perla qui.

There's also a previous low-budget version of the video, directed by Henry Legoy, that leaves less room for imagination. But the Besson's one is the must here.
