Giovani extra-comunitari espongono una selezione di prodotti SELETTI in vari punti della città su teli che richiamano la maniera di presentare prodotti/copia tipica di quelli che vengono definiti “vu-cumprà”. Un’operazione di “guerrilla marketing” che vuole essere una riflessione sul mondo del design ma anche sull’integrazione. Una vetrina inaspettata.

Young extra-UE street vendors display a selection of SELETTI products in the "hot spots" around the city on tarps that imitate how street goods/fakes are sold and are typically referred to as "vu-cumprà". A “guerrilla marketing” operation which is a reflection on the world of design but also on integration. An unexpected window.

L' allestimento grafico è stato progettato dello Studio Badini Createam e realizzato da Decoro, realtà entrambe mantovane.

Some pictures of the ABICI installation at the exhibition CREATIVE MANTUA 2011.

The ABICI range shown at the "Loggia del Grano" in the historic centre of the Renaissance city of Mantua, in Via Spagnoli. Abici is a story of italian artisanal manufacture renowned worldwide. Essential design, sinuous shapes, precious details, supreme colour palette, a simple but powerful formula of italian excellence. The graphic installation is designed by Studio Badini Createam and realized by Decoro, two other local companies, in the spirit of the exhibition.

Darryl Pandy, Chicago House music seminal voice, singer on the first big House international hit "Love Can't Turn Around" (1986! - with Farley Jackmaster Funk & jessie Saunders) that paved the way for the genre, passed away today. In loving memory.

Do yourself a favour and watch this film with high quality speakers because the music Vlad composed truly deserves to be heard in all of its glory.
Hook your computer to multi-media speakers, home stereo, TV or headphones but DO NOT, for the sake of all that is holy, listen to the sound on the laptop's crappy built-in speaker or just as unforgivably; muted!!

I’d like to thank Timesand Studios for their support on this project. I absolutely must thank Vladimir Persan for his help and the time and efforts he invested into creating the amazing original score. I would also like to extend my gratitude to the obliging staff of Arabian Construction Company and Arabtec - their project managers were utterly helpful and understanding - and all the safety staff that catered to my every need throughout the shoot. Un’operazione di “guerrilla marketing” che vuole essere una riflessione sul mondo del design ma anche sull’integrazione. Una vetrina inaspettata.

I prodotti SELETTI saranno protagonisti anche di due installazioni curate dal designer mantovano Alessandro Zambelli nelle vetrine del negozio Bernardelli Donna UP in Via Roma 20. La prima, PALACE, sarà dedicata alla linea di “architetture da tavola” rinascimentali dallo stesso nome. La seconda, intitolata “Il cacciatore di nuvole”, sarà un’installazione surrealista, (il vedere “oltre le cose”) che metterà in luce la linea TURN Collection di complementi e illuminazione in porcellana e legno.

The SELETTI products will be featured also in two installations curated by the designer Alessandro Zambelli from Mantua in the shop window Bernardelli Donna UP in Via Roma 20. The first, PALACE will be dedicated to the "table architecture". The second, called "The clouds hunter", will be a surrealist installation ("watching over") that will highlights the TURN Collection line of accessories and lighting made of porcelain and wood.

TACTILE WAVEFORMS / SUPERFAD / NANDO COSTA

Questo corto di Süperfad, diretto da Nando Costa, esplora le connessioni tra la scienza, matematica e musica. Illustrazioni che raffiguranti i movimenti musicali sono immersi in paesaggi stilizzati che illustrano le condizioni in cui viaggiamo i suoni. Queste rappresentazioni illustrate reagiscono in maniere differenti mentre viaggiano in questi paesaggi isolati, trasformandosi in strumenti musicali impossibili e alterando gli elementi dell'ambiente nel processo.La struttura del film è definita dalla composizione musicale di World Gang, che include strumenti classici alterati elettronicamente per creare un brano. Le immagini e i suoni astratti del video interagiscono in una situazione di contrasto, in una miscela sia ultraterrena che tradizionale.  

Süperfad’s short film, directed by Nando Costa, explores the connections between science, mathematics and music. Drawings representing a musical score are released into stylized landscapes that illustrate conditions through which sounds travel. These drawn representations react in different ways when traveling through the desolate landscapes, transforming into impossible musical instruments and altering elements in the environment along the way. The film’s structure is defined by World Gang’s music composition, which features classic instruments altered electronically to create the track. Working in a push and pull relationship, the film’s video and audio abstractions unite in an experience that is both otherworldly and rooted in tradition.

THE ART OF RICHARD HAINES

Un tratto semplice, immediato, spontaneo ma anche molto ricco, elegante e sofisticato allo stesso tempo, è il tratto delle illustrazioni di RICHARD HAINES (conosciuto anche come "Designerman"), artista/illustratore di New York che raccoglie i suoi lavori in un interessantissimo blog "WHAT I SAW TODAY" - "Cosa ho visto oggi". Uno sguardo che va ben oltre l'illustrazione di moda e diventa reportage di vita quotidiana leggera e raffinata, con un magistrale uso del colore. Bravissimo!


A simple trait, immediate, spontaneous but also rich, elegant and sophisticated at the same time, the trait of RICHARD HAINES (aka "Designerman"), artist/illustrator based in New York that gathers his works in a very interesting blog "WHAT I SAW TODAY". An "eye" that goes beyond the fashion ilustration and become a reportage of a daily life graceful and smart, with a masterly use of colours. Bravo!

I truly enjoy outer space. It's absolutely amazing that we now have the ability to send instruments out into the void of the universe to observe all sorts of interesting things. Asteroids! Moons! Planets! Dark matter! This is the perfect opportunity for a Carl Sagan quote:

"Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known."
